National amputee football teams are preparing for the 2026 World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) World Cup, scheduled for November 13 to 22 in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico. The Turkish Amputee National Football Team has continued intensive preparations through various training phases. Following high-altitude training at the Erciyes High Altitude Camp Center in Kayseri to simulate environmental conditions, the squad moved to the Akkent Sports Village in Gaziantep for training hosted by the Şahinbey Municipality. Technical director İsmail Temiz noted that the team is focused on technical and tactical preparations to reclaim the world championship title they held in 2022. During a visit to the Gaziantep sessions, Mayor Mehmet Tahmazoğlu highlighted the inclusion of four players from the Şahinbey Ampute Football Team in the national roster. In Ghana, the Paralympic Committee has named a 20-player provisional squad for the ‘Black Challenge’. Led by head coach Richard Stephen Obeng, the roster consists of three goalkeepers and 17 outfield players. Ghana qualifies for the 24-team tournament following recent continental successes and has been placed in Group D, where they will face Angola, Colombia, and Iraq. Liberia has also finalized its preparations, with coach Victor P. H. B. Benson announcing a 15-man squad. Liberia is drawn into Group A alongside host nation Mexico, Italy, and Algeria.
