The 2026 British Superbike Championship Showdown opened at the TT Circuit Assen with victories shared between Scott Redding and Kyle Ryde.

In the first race, Redding moved from the second row to take an early lead. Despite changing weather conditions and a red flag caused by light rain, Redding secured a podium finish. The race start had been previously delayed due to an oil cooler pipe failure on Rory Skinner’s motorcycle.

In the final race, Kyle Ryde won following an intense battle at the chicane, narrowly defeating Bradley Ray and Redding. While Redding attempted unconventional maneuvers to secure a triple win, he ultimately finished third. Ryan Vickers also recorded strong performance, setting lap records during the event.

Following the Assen round, the championship intensified at Donington Park. Defending champion Kyle Ryde secured victories in the first and second races of the weekend, appearing to take a significant step toward his third title. However, technical issues during the third race allowed Scott Redding to win the final race, leaving the championship battle wide open.

Heading into the season finale at Brands Hatch, Ryde maintains a 53-point advantage over Redding. Ryan Vickers also achieved three podium finishes at Donington Park, despite managing physical injury and mechanical issues involving bike vibrations and a stretched chain during the final race.
