Since April 2026 Portugal’s World Cup rights have been split among free‑to‑air broadcasters (RTP, SIC, TVI), a premium Sport TV package and LiveModeTV’s free‑to‑air streams on YouTube and Prime Video. The regulator ERC has paused a contravention procedure against LiveModeTV while reviewing its classification, indicating ongoing scrutiny of digital‑only services. LiveModeTV’s coverage of the 2026 men’s tournament streamed 34 matches to over 3.6 million unique devices, and on 3 July 2026 it announced a daily one‑match feed for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, totalling 25 games. The platform’s Brazilian‑origin influencer model, built on CazéTV streams, was rolled out in Portugal by presenter Casimiro Miguel. A broadcast of the Brazil‑Japan match attracted about 19 million concurrent viewers, while the Brazil‑Morocco game reached roughly one‑third of Portuguese households. The operation partners with Cristiano Ronaldo and features local comedians, journalists and other influencers, though critics warn the format can promote unregulated sports betting.

In Italy, DAZN detailed a comprehensive 2026 World Cup plan, pledging live coverage of every one of the 104 matches with Italian commentary, 104 highlights reels, 34 best‑moment compilations and a suite of original programmes. Up to 16 hours of live action will air daily, complemented by around 1,000 editorial events such as “Wake Cup”, “Copa Mundial” and the prime‑time “Times Square – L’Ora del Mondiale” hosted by Diletta Leotta and Marco Russo. On 16 August 2026 DAZN announced subscription‑fee increases for its Full and Family plans in Italy, attributing the hikes to recent acquisitions of FIFA rights, including the 2026 World Cup and the 2025 Club World Cup.

On 6 July 2026 LiveModeTV secured Portuguese broadcast rights to the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2026, a December showdown of continental champions, with PSG featuring Portuguese internationals Vitinha, João Neves and Nuno Mendes.
