The 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, continue to showcase diverse athletic achievements, particularly in swimming, shooting, and artistic swimming.

In swimming, Cyprus’ Kalia Antoniou secured her second gold medal of the games, winning the 50m freestyle with a time of 24.92 seconds. The podium for the event included silver medalist Elena Capretta of Italy and bronze medalist Agata Maria Ambler of Cyprus.

In the men’s events, Angelos Koromylis recorded the second-best qualifying time in the 100m surface, and Giorgos Kaltsoukalas secured a position as the first reserve. Other qualifiers include Ioanna Tsalouchou, Elias Kalpidis, Giorgos Kousis, Yolanta Kaparda, and Ioannis Ioakeimidis. The Greek team is also set to compete in the 4x100m mixed surface relay.

Earlier achievements in the games included Greece’s success in freestyle wrestling, with gold medals for Giorgos Kougioumtzidis (86 kg) and Dauren Kourougliev (97 kg), and Egypt’s Farida Osman earning bronze in the women’s 50m butterfly.
