The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) concluded with Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon) securing a record ninth title. In a significant comeback during the grand finale at the University of Ghana, PRESEC-Legon overcame an early deficit where they trailed both St. Augustine’s College and Accra Academy with only 9 points. They ultimately finished with 40 points, defeating Accra Academy (33 points) and St. Augustine’s College (27 points).

The finale featured notable support from alumni. St. Augustine’s College supporters pledged a GH¢120,000 package, while Accra Academy alumni established an educational fund to provide full tertiary scholarships for their contestants. 

This victory marks PRESEC-Legon’s return to the championship stage after a two-year absence, extending its record as the most successful school in the competition's history. The tournament also saw Accra Academy make its first-ever appearance in the NSMQ grand finale.
