Following the implementation of expanded Pico y Placa schemes in early August, traffic restrictions continued through early September across several Colombian and Ecuadorian cities.

To manage congestion, authorities have also resumed counterflow traffic on Simón Bolívar Avenue between Ruta Viva and Guápulo on weekday mornings.

In the Bucaramanga metropolitan area, measures for September 3 prohibited private vehicles and motorcycles with plates ending in 3 or 4 from 06:00 to 20:00, while taxis with plates 7 or 8 were restricted from 07:00 to 21:00.

In Bogotá, on September 7, private vehicle restrictions for odd-numbered days applied to plates ending in 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0 from 06:00 to 21:00. Taxis and special service vehicles with plates ending in 3 and 4 were restricted from 05:30 to 21:00; violators face fines of approximately 604,100 pesos and potential vehicle immobilization.
