In June 2026, cryptocurrency transactions in Indonesia grew by 24.20% month-to-month, totaling Rp28.58 trillion. Data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) shows that consumer accounts reached 22.69 million during this period.

By July 2026, digital asset user accounts increased to 22.93 million, while crypto asset transactions were recorded at Rp20.52 trillion. During this same period, digital financial asset derivatives reached Rp3.41 trillion. The ecosystem is supported by an expanding infrastructure consisting of 27 licensed digital asset traders, two digital asset exchanges, two clearing houses, and two custodians.

OJK Vice Chairman Hernawan Bekti Sasongko stated that digital innovation is now an “integral part of the national financial system,” emphasizing the principle of “same activity, same risk, same regulation” to maintain stability and consumer protection. 

In the broader fintech landscape, banking institutions have emerged as the dominant lenders in the online lending market, accounting for approximately 67 percent of total lending. As of June 2026, the value of loans distributed through online platforms reached Rp105.14 trillion, with the banking sector contributing an estimated Rp70.4 trillion, representing a 34 percent increase from the previous year.
