Mexican footballer Rebeca Bernal has signed with Manchester United, becoming the first Mexican player to compete in the English Women’s Super League. Her contract is set to run until June 2029.

Bernal joins the club from the Washington Spirit of the National Women’s Soccer League. She previously had a significant tenure with Rayadas de Monterrey in Mexico, where she played over 250 matches, scored approximately 66 to 70 goals, and won four league titles. 

Manchester United’s director of women’s football, Matt Johnson, described Bernal as an “exceptional player who brings quality, leadership, and experience to the squad.” She is noted as the first player formed in the Mexican women's league since its 2017 inception to move to European football.
