In the ancient city of Adramytteion on the Aegean coast, researchers unearthed an 1,800-year-old mosaic within a Roman-era villa. The 5-by-3.6-meter mosaic features 15 panels depicting mythological figures and animals, such as Medusa and Pegasus. Separately, at the Pompeiopolis Ancient City in Kastamonu, excavations uncovered a 105-square-meter geometric floor mosaic dating to the 4th century AD in a basilica's central nave. Alongside the mosaic, an Eros head from the second half of the 2nd century AD was discovered. These findings highlight the cultural and artistic history of the Paphlagonia region during the Roman Imperial Period and Late Antiquity.
