Disney Cruise Line is undergoing a significant fleet expansion involving the launch of new vessels and major construction milestones. The company has introduced the Disney Adventure, a 6,000-passenger ship homeported in Singapore. This vessel was a major financial undertaking, involving the $40 million acquisition of a partially completed hull in 2022 followed by a $1.76 billion retrofit to replace casino-focused layouts with themed areas like ‘Marvel Landing’ and a ‘Disney Castle’. 

Construction is progressing on the Disney Believe, the fourth ship in the Wish class and the ninth addition to the fleet. Work has since transitioned to the second gigablock.

On October 7, 2026, Disney revealed that the Disney Believe is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on December 18, 2027. The ship will operate from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, running four- and five-night cruises to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Disney’s private destinations, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. This expansion is part of a broader strategy aimed at reaching 13 ships by late 2030.

Design and entertainment elements include a bow image of Tinker Bell, a stern image featuring Woody and Buzz, and a Grand Hall inspired by the Moana franchise. The ship will feature the world’s first stage adaptation of ‘Encanto’ at the Walt Disney Theatre, a reworked ‘Tangled: The Musical’, and themed venues such as a Zootopia-inspired ‘Gazelle’ hub, a Snow White-themed ‘Wishing Well’ lounge, and a ‘Monstropolis’-themed entrance for the Oceaneer Club. General bookings are set to open on October 19, 2026.
