Written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, the production aims to provide a fresh perspective for a younger audience while remaining faithful to the 1813 novel. The series features a cast including Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, Olivia Colman, and Rufus Sewell as Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. The plot follows the Bennet family in rural England, focusing on the romantic entanglements and social pressures faced by the five sisters as they navigate marriage and family security. Alderton has noted that her interpretation of Elizabeth Bennet is influenced by a “more mature understanding of the character’s concerns regarding marriage and love.” The production places a heavy emphasis on historical accuracy, specifically regarding costume design. Collaborating with designer Charlotte Walter, the team is using authentic 18th and 19th-century textiles to create realistic, simple attire for the female characters. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Netflix announces new ‘Pride and Prejudice’ miniseries Netflix will release a new six-episode miniseries adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ on December 3, 2026, starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/netflix-announces-new-pride-and-prejudice-miniseries ### 2026-09-24: Netflix announces new ‘Pride and Prejudice’ series for 2026 Netflix will release a new six-episode ‘Pride and Prejudice’ series written by Dolly Alderton on December 3, 2026, starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/netflix-announces-new-pride-and-prejudice-series-for-2026 --- Cite as: Netflix Pride and Prejudice series announcement.
