Iraq has officially seen the departure of United States military forces, a development framed as a step toward national sovereignty and economic independence.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) characterized the withdrawal as a victory for the Iraqi people and their struggle for independence. The IRGC stated the departure was a result of the “steadfastness of the Iraqi nation” rather than negotiations. The group further asserted that the US presence in West Asia caused instability and terrorism, noting that after two decades of intervention, the US has been forced to retreat, leaving security management to local populations.
