Sources: 9. Developments: 2. Juventus has maintained its pursuit of Olympique de Marseille midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, identifying him as a priority target for the January transfer window. Under manager Luciano Spalletti, the Italian club aims to secure the Danish international to provide leadership and stability in a midfield currently affected by injuries and the absence of Manuel Locatelli. Højbjerg, who serves as captain for both Marseille and Denmark, has reportedly shown interest in the Italian project. To manage the wage bill and comply with financial requirements, Juventus may look to sell Teun Koopmeiners. A transfer could provide a significant financial boost to Marseille, with reports suggesting the French club could generate approximately 15 million euros from the deal to meet strict economic requirements. In addition to the midfield search, Juventus is evaluating the future of Colombian defender Juan Cabal. While Cabal is currently recovering from a muscle injury, his long-term role in Spalletti’s rotation remains uncertain, and his potential departure could facilitate new investments on the left flank. Recent reports indicate that Juventus emissaries have already been active in monitoring Højbjerg, including observing his recent activity during international matches. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-04: Juventus targets Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for January transfer window Juventus is targeting Marseille midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for a January move, potentially selling Teun Koopmeiners to fund the transfer and strengthen the midfield. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/juventus-targets-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-for-winter-transfer ### 2026-10-01: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg targeted by Juventus and Fiorentina Juventus and Fiorentina are targeting Olympique de Marseille midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for the winter transfer window as the player is no longer considered untouchable by the French club. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pierre-emile-hjbjerg-targeted-by-juventus-and-fiorentina --- Cite as: Juventus targeting Højbjerg for January transfer window.
