Neymar has become a central figure in the recent success of Santos FC. During a Copa Sudamericana quarterfinal first leg against Atlético Mineiro, Neymar engaged in a verbal altercation with supporters regarding his physical condition, remarking, “Even without a knee, I play better than your entire team.” Despite being sidelined by a thigh injury at the time, Santos secured a 2-0 victory in that match.

As the season progressed into the Campeonato Brasileiro, Santos maintained a position at the top of the standings. Neymar’s influence on the pitch was noted during a 2-2 draw against Flamengo, where he scored two penalty goals. Coach Cuca credited Neymar’s presence with strengthening the squad. Additionally, Neymar has received praise from Kings League president Gerard Piqué for his ability to engage fans through social media.
