In soccer, the Huskies recorded a 1-1 draw against Roosevelt. In college football, the Illinois Fighting Illini secured their first Big Ten conference win of the season with a 38-37 overtime victory against the Michigan State Spartans at Spartan Stadium. Illinois established an early lead, but Michigan State mounted a second-half comeback to tie the game in the final minutes. Freshman Michael Clayton II replaced Houser and led the offense, including a 25-yard touchdown pass to Hudson Clement on the first play of overtime. Michigan State subsequently fell short on a two-point conversion attempt to seal the win. The loss brings the Spartans' record to 2-4, while Illinois moves to 3-3.
