Sources: 148. Developments: 8. Clarence Seedorf has been appointed as the head coach of the Brazilian football club Corinthians, signing a contract that runs until the end of the 2027 season. Seedorf succeeds Fernando Diniz, who was dismissed following a series of poor results that left the club near or within the relegation zone of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Following the settlement of Fernando Diniz’s contract termination—an agreement involving approximately R$ 4.8 million in installments to protect cash flow—the club successfully registered Seedorf with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), resolving previous bureaucratic delays regarding his work visa. Seedorf’s official debut as manager ended in a 3-2 defeat against Vasco da Gama at São Januário. Despite leading 2-1 during the match, Corinthians conceded two late goals in the 88th and 90th minutes via Marino Hinestroza. This result extends the club's winless streak to ten matches and drops them to 17th place in the standings, placing them within the relegation zone with 33 points. Seedorf noted that the squad is feeling “frustrated and angry” due to the lack of results despite their efforts. With only six matches remaining in the season, the club is fighting to avoid relegation. ## Claims - Seedorf was unable to manage from the sidelines due to work visa issues.
