In late September 2026, the Cité de la musique hosted ‘My Rock Stars’, an exhibition by Hassan Hajjaj featuring portraits that blend traditional Moroccan clothing with urban fashion. Concurrently, La Galerie 38 in Casablanca announced a retrospective of painter Mohamed Mourabiti, showcasing nearly forty years of work inspired by the landscapes and materials of Marrakech and Tahannaout. By mid-October 2026, new exhibitions expanded these themes. Photographer Abdallah Bouhamidi presented ‘Hidden/Hiding’ at Espace Rivages, using monochrome photography to examine urban spaces and the tension between visibility and concealment. Additionally, artist Amina Benbouchta presented ‘Like Any Others’ at OH Gallery, utilizing painting, sculpture, and textile installations to investigate the historical and cultural links between Senegal and Morocco. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-21: Art exhibitions explore cultural heritage and identity in Morocco and Senegal Upcoming exhibitions by Abdallah Bouhamidi in Morocco and Amina Benbouchta in Senegal explore themes of visibility, cultural heritage, and the historical ties between North and West Africa. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/art-exhibitions-explore-cultural-heritage-and-identity-in-morocco-and-senegal ### 2026-09-23: Moroccan artists Hassan Hajjaj and Mohamed Mourabiti featured in new exhibitions Moroccan artists Hassan Hajjaj and Mohamed Mourabiti are featured in new exhibitions, showcasing Hajjaj’s urban-traditional photography and Mourabiti’s forty-year painting retrospective. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/moroccan-artists-hassan-hajjaj-and-mohamed-mourabiti-featured-in-new-exhibitions --- Cite as: Contemporary art exhibitions in Morocco.
