Comedian Shane Gillis faced significant backlash following his monologue on ‘Saturday Night Live’, in which he made remarks regarding women’s gym attire. Critics, including actor Dan Levy and former SNL cast members Cecily Strong and Ego Nwodim, characterized the comments as misogynistic and out of touch. One commentator described the joke as a “cheap, misogynist shot.”

The incident sparked a broader debate concerning gender dynamics in comedy and the cultural implications of sexualizing women’s clothing. While Joe Rogan defended Gillis, suggesting the joke was self-deprecating, other observers noted that such rhetoric can contribute to environments that facilitate sexual assault or alienate women from physical activities.
