The Educational and Cultural Foundation of Nova Iguaçu (Fenig) has extended the registration deadline for its Municipal Handicraft Program until November 30. The extension is available for both new artisans and existing professionals who need to re-register.

The application process requires candidates to complete an online form and undergo an in-person technical evaluation where they must create a piece for a commission. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Nova Iguaçu. Those who have not updated their information in four years or more are required to undergo a new skill assessment.

Registration provides artisans with opportunities to participate in local fairs, professional workshops, and events throughout Rio de Janeiro and other states. Since the program began in 2017, it has registered roughly 3,000 professionals.
