Recent reports highlight several instances of femicide across different Brazilian states. In Rio Grande do Sul, a Venezuelan man was arrested for the murder of his partner, Evelin Betanco. This follows previous similar incidents involving Venezuelan migrants in Goiás and Erechim, where victims had reportedly been subjected to domestic violence.

In Rondônia, authorities in Porto Velho arrested Ismael Maia de Souza, 37, on suspicion of killing 64-year-old Eliana Dias Limoeiro. The victim’s body was discovered in a shallow grave at their apartment complex after family members reported her missing. While the suspect has denied the allegations, the Civil Police are investigating the case as femicide and concealment of a corpse.
