Following the dismissal of Dan Wilson, the Seattle Mariners expanded their search for a new manager, prioritizing candidates with established Major League experience. Early reports identified Rocco Baldelli, the former Minnesota Twins manager, as a primary target alongside other experienced names such as Brandon Hyde and David Ross.

However, Baldelli subsequently withdrew from consideration, citing “family considerations at this moment in time.” His departure leaves Joe Espada and Jason Kanzler as the only publicly known names remaining in the process. While the organization has not confirmed a final shortlist, baseball operations president Jerry Dipoto has stated there is “no timeline” for the final hire.
