Japan observed various regional autumn celebrations and seasonal activities during the month of October. Early festivities included the ‘Yokohama Oimo Expo 2026’ in Yokohama, the ‘Shinshu Muscle Festival’ in Nagano, and the ‘Okayama Momotaro Festival’ in Okayama City, which featured historical reenactments near Okayama Castle.

As the season progressed, focus shifted toward autumn foliage events. Scheduled celebrations include the 47th Kuzuryu Autumn Leaves Festival in Fukui Prefecture, featuring local food markets and stage events, and the Arashiyama Valley Autumn Leaves Festival in Saitama Prefecture. The latter includes gourmet markets and guided historical tours, with peak foliage viewing expected to last from mid-November through early December.
