The city has demonstrated economic dynamism through the restructuring of its business and financial services sectors, with projections suggesting its average income may surpass regional hubs like Buenos Aires and São Paulo by 2040. Key drivers of this growth include public transportation infrastructure, such as the Metro and Metrocable systems, and urban renewal projects like the Perpetuo Socorro creative district. Medellín currently hosts over 785 technology startups and is developing an urban testing zone to experiment with technological solutions in real-world environments.
