Recent reports indicate separate fatal shootings involving women in Turkey. In Kırklareli, Aleyna Aydın was killed in the Vize district after being shot by her husband, S. A., who reportedly attempted to take his own life following the incident. The couple’s infant daughter was placed under the protection of the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

In Aydın, a funeral was held for 20-year-old Kumsal Kayan, who died in a hospital after being shot by her former boyfriend, V. D., in the Nazilli district. Kayan’s family has alleged the attack was premeditated, stating that the victim had been subjected to stalking and threats despite having a restraining order in place. Her grandmother claimed the suspect had taken the victim’s phone, preventing her from using the KADES emergency application to call for assistance.
