The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun organizing its 2027 presidential campaign council. In October 2026, the party appointed Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu as the Deputy Director of Youth Mobilisation for the South-East Zone. Chukwu, who serves as a Special Assistant to Abia State Governor Alex Otti, expressed surprise at the appointment, stating he was neither consulted nor informed about his inclusion on the list.

By November 2026, Governor Bassey Otu inaugurated the APC campaign council for the 2027 general elections in Cross River State. During the inauguration in Calabar, Otu detailed his administration’s economic progress, including significant debt reduction and increased internally generated revenue, while framing a second term as a transition from economic recovery to wealth creation.
