Saturday Night Live has featured various sketches parodying prominent political figures. In early October 2026, a cold open segment featured comedian Colin Jost performing a parody of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, which included a slam poetry segment mocking his military leadership style and public persona.

By November 2026, the program continued its political satire with sketches involving former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and further portrayals of Hegseth. Additionally, the Weekend Update segment addressed topics such as Donald Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize. Observers noted that such satire, when shared on social media platforms, may increase voter engagement by allowing individuals to discuss political content through short-form media.
