Authorities in Sicily and other Italian regions have conducted various inspections targeting food businesses, confectionery companies, and service establishments.

In late October, inspections in Caltagirone resulted in fines totaling over 20,000 euros for two restaurants due to workplace safety violations, undeclared labor, and lack of menu transparency. In Lentini, a bakery faced a 3,000 euro fine and a proposed suspension of operations following the discovery of severe hygienic and sanitary deficiencies.

By early November, enforcement actions expanded to include business suspensions in Catania and Grazzanise. In Catania, a kiosk-bar and a bar-betting center were suspended for seven days after authorities noted they were frequently visited by individuals with criminal records, including those involved in organized crime and drug trafficking. In Grazzanise, a confectionery company was suspended due to hygienic and structural deficiencies, while three representatives faced legal charges for failing to maintain required workplace safety documentation.
