The Molise region in Italy has been selected to host the 2028 Senior Raffa Bocce World Championships. The International Bocce Confederation (CBI) made the decision unanimously during a meeting in Brazil, with Campobasso designated as the primary venue.

The Italian candidacy was presented by Roberto Favre, President of the Italian Bocce Federation, alongside Giuseppe Formato, President of the Molise Bocce Federation. This marks the first time the region will host a World Championship event.

Local political leaders from various groups, including Area Moderata, Forza Italia, UDC, Noi Moderati, and Popolari per l’Italia, have welcomed the announcement. Officials and representatives suggest the event will serve as an international showcase for Campobasso, providing opportunities for tourism promotion, economic development, and the valorization of the territory.
