The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced details for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, scheduled for October 30, 2026, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be accessible via live stream on the official Emmys YouTube channel, the Emmys app, and various smart TV applications. In the Best Daytime Drama Series category, a notable competition has emerged between the veteran program ‘General Hospital’ and the first-year contender ‘Beyond the Gates’. While ‘General Hospital’ has held the category for five consecutive years, ‘Beyond the Gates’ has received 15 nominations, the highest for a freshman soap in the ceremony’s history. As the ceremony approaches, ‘Beyond the Gates’ is considered a front-runner, while ‘General Hospital’ seeks to extend its winning streak. Several historic milestones are anticipated. Heather Tom, star of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, is positioned to potentially break the record for the most Daytime Emmy wins by an actress, currently held by Erika Slezak with six trophies. Tom is also nominated as part of a writing team. In other categories, Kelly Clarkson could win her ninth or tenth career Emmy for ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’. Additionally, ‘The Young and the Restless’ leads in total nominations with 18, and Eric Braeden is positioned as a leader for Best Lead Actor. Nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress previously participated in the annual celebratory luncheon. Hosted by 2025 winner Nancy Lee Grahn, the event included nominees Heather Tom, Karla Mosley, Michelle Stafford, Tamara Tunie, and Stacy Haiduk, continuing a tradition established in 2005. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-29: Daytime Emmy Awards: Potential Records and Front-runners Announced The 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards feature several potential record-breakers, including Heather Tom and Kelly Clarkson, as various programs vie for major categories. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/daytime-emmy-awards-potential-records-and-front-runners-announced ### 2026-10-27: 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards to be held October 30 The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air live on October 30, 2026, via YouTube and the official Emmys app. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/53rd-annual-daytime-emmy-awards-to-be-held-october-30 ### 2026-10-22: Daytime Emmy Awards reveal presenter lineup and drama series contenders The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will feature a star-studded presenter lineup and a historic battle for Best Daytime Drama Series between 'General Hospital' and newcomer 'Beyond the Gates'. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/daytime-emmy-awards-reveal-presenter-lineup-and-drama-series-contenders --- Cite as: 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
