A. P. Moller Capital has engaged in a series of strategic acquisitions to expand its presence in the maritime and port logistics sectors.

In late September 2026, the firm signed a binding agreement to acquire a 53.35% majority stake in Thaumas N.V., the parent company of Euroports Group. This deal involves purchasing shares from R-Logitech S.A. and Belgian investors SFPIM and PMV. Euroports Group operates over 50 deep-sea and inland terminals across Europe and China. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.

In mid-October 2026, the firm announced an agreement to acquire 100% of Singapore-based Portek International from the Japanese trading company Mitsui & Co. through its Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II. While financial terms were not disclosed, the acquisition includes Portek’s port engineering, operations, and maintenance services. Portek manages seven terminals across Algeria, Gabon, Indonesia, Latvia, Malta, and Vietnam, employing approximately 1,400 people. The company handles an annual volume of roughly 700,000 containers, 7 million tonnes of bulk cargo, and 90,000 vehicles.

A. P. Moller Capital intends to apply an active ownership strategy to Portek, working with local teams to enhance operational performance, governance, safety, and environmental initiatives, specifically focusing on emissions reduction. The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
