Sources: 24. Developments: 3. New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn began his tenure facing a matchup against his former team, the Detroit Lions. Early in the season, the Jets held the NFL’s top-ranked total defense, becoming the first team since 2006 to prevent opponents from reaching 200 yards in each of their first two games. However, following a loss to the Lions, the Jets’ defensive performance declined, resulting in a league-record streak of 20 consecutive games without an interception. As the season progressed, the Jets fell to a 1-2 record heading into a matchup against the Chicago Bears. While quarterback Geno Smith maintained high ball security, Glenn faced scrutiny for his winning percentage. Following a 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Jets dropped to a 2-5 record. Glenn is currently facing intense criticism from fans and media regarding his defensive schemes and clock management. He holds a 5-19 record in his 24 games with the franchise and has gone 0-8 against AFC East opponents. During the recent loss to the Dolphins, Glenn faced specific criticism for failing to use timeouts late in the second half to allow the offense more time to respond. While Glenn maintains that the team is on the right track, discussions regarding potential coaching replacements have intensified. While some analysts suggest firing him mid-season could lead to a further downward spiral, the coaching situation remains a significant point of discussion as the team struggles to break a long postseason drought. ## Claims - The Miami Dolphins defeated the New York Jets 28-25.
