The sitcom ‘Abbott Elementary’ returned for its sixth season on October 7, 2026, via ABC and Hulu. The season premiere, titled ‘Jungle Classroom’, arrives as the series approaches its 100th episode milestone, which is expected to be filmed at Disneyland.

This new season introduces new characters, such as Elsa Hardaway, a new hire described as a firm presence among the staff. The narrative follows the school’s efforts to manage funding and the logistical changes caused by teachers moving from closed schools.

Creator and star Quinta Brunson has indicated that the season will feature major character developments, specifically focusing on the arcs of Gregory and Jacob, while navigating evolving dynamics like the relationship between Janine and Barbara. This follows previous discussions regarding the show’s long-term success and the demanding seven-month filming schedule noted by Brunson.

Recent casting updates for the sixth season include guest appearances by Miranda Cosgrove and Ali Wong, alongside Edi Patterson. The series, which utilizes a mockumentary style, maintains high critical standing, including a 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The 100th episode milestone is expected to occur around the fall finale.
