The Abruzzo region is implementing several initiatives to enhance its cycling tourism infrastructure and networks.

Initially, the region extended the application deadline to September 30 for entities to request bicycle racks under the Cyros project. Funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Croatia Program, this initiative aims to support the Adriatic-Ionian Cycle Path and the Via Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi by providing racks to tourism service providers through free loan-for-use agreements.

Subsequently, a new joint cycling tourism map was launched, integrating the Ciclovie della Transumanza, I Percorsi di Ermes, and Rete Ciclabile dei Trabocchi projects. This network covers over 1,500 kilometers across 56 routes, connecting the provinces of Abruzzo, Lazio, and Marche. Supported by PNRR funding, the project seeks to link environmental and cultural heritage with local villages and natural reserves through sustainable mobility and improved signage.
