Sources: 10. Developments: 2. AC Milan is navigating tactical dilemmas regarding squad rotation under manager Ruben Amorim. Initial concerns focused on the balance between domestic league stability and Europa League commitments, specifically whether resting key players like Christian Pulisic would disrupt team cohesion or if integrating youth players like Francesco Camarda would impact competitive results. This management challenge has centered on attacking midfielder Alphadjo Cisse. Following a hat-trick against Salzburg, Cisse was notably left on the bench during a 3-2 victory against Atalanta in favor of Loftus-Cheek. While Cisse has led the team's scoring with five goals in eight appearances, his role remains a subject of debate, with former player Antonio Cassano questioning if he is a world-class starter or a rotational asset. Amorim is expected to reintegrate Cisse into the starting lineup for the upcoming Europa League match against Bournemouth. Recent discussions have also explored the possibility of a new attacking trio featuring Cisse, Christian Pulisic, and Gonçalo Ramos to address these tactical shifts. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-20: AC Milan tactical shifts and Cagliari-Bologna Serie A preview AC Milan manages tactical rotations involving forward Alphadjo Cisse ahead of Europa League play, while Cagliari prepares for a Serie A matchup against Bologna. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ac-milan-attacker-alphadjo-cisse-faces-tactical-rotation-debate ### 2026-10-14: AC Milan faces rotation dilemma ahead of Salzburg Europa League clash AC Milan faces strategic decisions over squad rotation for their Europa League match against Salzburg, balancing domestic priorities with youth development and European ambitions. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ac-milan-faces-rotation-dilemma-ahead-of-salzburg-europa-league-clash --- Cite as: AC Milan squad rotation and player management.
