The future of Moroccan player Achraf Bencharki at Al Ahly SC has been a subject of ongoing negotiation. Initially, Bencharki’s status was described as uncertain as his contract approached its end, with interest reported from Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi. During this period, Bencharki had recently returned to form, scoring in a friendly match against Misr Lel Makkasa.

As negotiations progressed, Al Ahly SC focused on securing a renewal to maintain squad stability. The club sought to adjust Bencharki’s annual salary from approximately $1.6 million to roughly $900,000 to align with internal financial policies. Alongside these contract discussions, the club administration began identifying defensive reinforcements for the January transfer window to support head coach Hussein Ammouta in the Egyptian Premier League and the African Confederation Cup.
