Recent developments involve the unveiling and leaking of third kits manufactured by Adidas for various football clubs.

In South Africa, Orlando Pirates officially launched their 2026-27 third kit during a ‘From Field to Fashion’ showcase at South Africa Fashion Week. The dark maroon jersey features geometric patterns inspired by the Soweto urban landscape, with a retail release scheduled for late October 2026.

Separately, leaked images have surfaced regarding the River Plate 2027 third kit. The design, which features a red base and a contemporary interpretation of a diagonal sash, appears to be a tribute to the club’s 1996–98 away kit.
