Adidas has secured a long-term partnership with Santos FC, marking a return for the German sportswear company which previously supplied the club between 1980–1981 and 1984–1988. The contract is set to begin in January 2028 and run through 2033, succeeding the club’s current agreement with Umbro.

The deal includes significantly higher financial terms, with Adidas expected to pay approximately R$ 37.5 million per season, potentially exceeding R$ 250 million over the duration of the six-year partnership. To expand the club’s international footprint, Adidas plans to distribute merchandise through up to 5,000 retailers, a substantial increase from the current Umbro arrangement.

While a 2027 transition was initially considered to align with roster changes, the 2028 start date was maintained to accommodate Adidas’s 18-month design and production timelines. Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden expressed pride in the agreement, noting the company’s history with the club and the efforts of the local Brazilian team in securing the deal.
