The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (ADOMPRETUR) has implemented new professional development programs in Santo Domingo. The association first launched an internship program led by editor José Rafael Sosa to train university students in specialized tourism reporting, including the use of artificial intelligence as a journalistic tool.

Following this, ADOMPRETUR inaugurated the ‘Voces del Caribe’ (Voices of the Caribbean) international tourism journalism forum during the 30th Caribbean Tourism Fair. The forum brought together journalists from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Panama to discuss digital journalism, the impact of AI, and the distinction between specialized reporting and influencer content. The event also featured the presentation of the ‘La Altagracia 2030’ strategic plan, which focuses on sustainable development and the relationship between tourism expansion and environmental protection.
