Recent clinical trial data presented at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer and in the Journal of Clinical Oncology highlight significant advancements in oncology treatments, particularly regarding antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and targeted therapies.

In the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the Phase III DESTINY-Lung04 study involving trastuzumab deruxtecan showed a 37% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death for patients with Her2-mutated NSCLC, achieving a median progression-free survival of 14.3 months. Additionally, Johnson & Johnson reported that Rybrevant combination therapy improved median overall survival to 34.3 months for patients with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations.

Research into HER2-targeted therapies also showed success in breast cancer, where Kelun-Biotech’s Disitamab Vedotin (SKB264) demonstrated a median progression-free survival of 11.1 months compared to 4.4 months for T-DM1. For small-cell lung cancer (SCLC), the TAISHAN-302 trial indicated that tambotatug pelitecan reduced the risk of death by 54% in relapsed patients compared to topotecan. Long-term data from the ADAURA trial further confirmed that adjuvant osimertinib provides sustained survival benefits for patients with resected, EGFR-mutated stage IB-IIIA NSCLC.
