Medical professionals in Northern Cyprus and Turkey have reported successful implementations of advanced, minimally invasive cardiac procedures.

In Northern Cyprus, the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital performed the region’s first robotic mitral valve surgery. Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek noted that the robotic approach allows for smaller incisions and faster healing compared to traditional methods.

In Turkey, surgical teams have utilized various minimally invasive techniques to treat high-risk patients. At Manisa City Hospital, specialists performed a tricuspid valve endocarditis surgery using a small incision to avoid opening the breastbone. Additionally, in Diyarbakır, doctors at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital used an angiographic method via the femoral vein to repair a leaking prosthetic mitral valve, avoiding the risks associated with open-heart surgery.
