Aeroitalia and Trieste Airport have announced expanded flight schedules for the winter 2026/27 season, focusing on increased connectivity to Southern Italy and Sardinia.

In Trieste, the airline is reinforcing the Trieste–Salerno route, increasing frequency to three flights per week, with a fourth flight added during the November and Christmas holiday period. This expansion is noted as significant due to the planned temporary closure of Naples Airport in November 2026.

To address holiday travel demand, Aeroitalia is introducing special seasonal connections between Northern Italian cities, including Genoa and Trieste, and Sardinian destinations such as Alghero and Olbia. These flights are scheduled to operate between December 23, 2026, and January 6, 2027. CEO Gaetano Intrieri stated that these connections allow the airline to “respond to heightened mobility needs and consolidate its presence in the region” during the holiday period.
