The AF Sport U-17 football tournament commenced at the A. Yani Stadium in Sumenep, East Java, featuring 27 teams from various districts. Sumenep Regent Achmad Fauzi Wongsojudo opened the event, stating it was a strategic foundation for developing high-quality athletes and instilling discipline and sportsmanship.

However, the tournament was officially cancelled following a violent riot during a match between the Ambunten and Masalembu districts on October 20, 2026. The disturbance involved players, officials, and supporters engaging in physical altercations on the field.

In response, the Disciplinary Commission of Askab PSSI Sumenep disqualified both the Ambunten and Masalembu teams. Tournament organizer Hasbul confirmed the decision to terminate the entire competition was driven by security concerns and feedback from the Sumenep Police regarding safety and event permits.
