The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has focused its activities on preparations for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, addressing both security concerns and campaign mobilization. In September 2026, the party demanded federal government action to curb rising political violence and voter intimidation. Party spokesperson Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi cited documented incidents of property destruction and assaults on opposition meetings in several states, including Kaduna, Kebbi, Ekiti, Rivers, and Kogi. The ADC urged the administration to protect the constitutional rights of all registered parties to campaign without fear. By October 2026, the party shifted toward intensifying its electoral preparations. Nationally, ADC Chairman David Mark pledged to resist election rigging, while the party’s presidential campaign council called for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain unbiased and for the decentralization of Permanent Voter Card collection. Concurrently, regional candidates began outlining specific platforms, such as teacher welfare in Sokoto, grassroots mobilization in Zamfara, and education and commercial reforms in Gombe. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-06: African Democratic Congress ramps up 2027 election preparations The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is ramping up 2027 election preparations in Nigeria, focusing on electoral integrity, grassroots mobilization, and state-specific welfare pledges. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sokoto-adc-candidate-demands-improved-welfare-for-teachers ### 2026-09-21: African Democratic Congress demands action on political violence ahead of 2027 elections The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is demanding government action against political violence and intimidation in Nigeria as preparations for the 2027 elections begin. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/african-democratic-congress-demands-action-on-political-violence-ahead-of-2027-elections --- Cite as: African Democratic Congress 2027 election preparations.
