In the Great Lakes region, the Fondation Jean Paul Lumbulumbu called for lasting peace in eastern DRC, specifically in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri, stating that true peace requires justice, the restoration of human dignity, and the security of livelihoods. Concurrently, the NGO International Alert is promoting the ‘Mupaka Shamba Letu’ project, which utilizes cross-border trade between the DRC, Rwanda, and Burundi as a ‘Business for Peace’ mechanism to maintain dialogue and economic interdependence despite geopolitical tensions.
