MotoGP rider Ai Ogura has faced technical and physical challenges during his premier-class season. Former racer Cal Crutchlow noted that Ogura’s light weight of 60kg makes tyre activation difficult during the early stages of races, though it aids tyre preservation for the end of races. Ogura’s season has also been impacted by a crash at Silverstone and a fractured hand from a training accident.

Despite these setbacks, Ogura has achieved a podium finish at Le Mans and a victory at Assen, the first win by a Japanese rider in the premier class since 2003. Ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix at Mobility Resort Motegi, Ogura and MotoGP Vice CEO Carlos Espartero met with the Japan Sports Agency to discuss the event’s impact on tourism and regional revitalization.
