Air Peace has faced significant financial and operational challenges in Nigeria stemming from labor disputes and equipment damage. Initially, the airline reported losses exceeding ₦2 billion following industrial action by aviation labor unions. The airline alleged these protests disrupted flight operations, affected thousands of passengers, and breached a 2024 Federal High Court injunction. The unions cited grievances regarding airlines’ indebtedness to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the failure to unionize employees.

Subsequent reports indicate a revenue loss of approximately $42 million (N58 billion), attributed in part to aircraft being grounded due to repeated damage caused by ground-handling equipment. Beyond physical damage, the airline noted that union picketing has created apprehension among international aircraft lessors and financiers. This has prompted emergency discussions between the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the NCAA regarding the potential for creditors to review aircraft acquisition negotiations with Nigerian carriers.

Regarding regulatory obligations, Air Peace disclosed substantial payments to the NCAA, including over N17 billion in Ticket and Cargo Sales Charges in 2025, and reached an agreement to prorate a N12 billion debt related to its London operations over three years.
