On October 6, 2026, a Delta Air Lines Airbus A350-900 and an Air Canada Boeing 777 collided on a taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The incident occurred while the Delta aircraft was taxiing for a flight to Tokyo and the Air Canada plane was being towed toward a gate following an arrival from Toronto.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the Delta aircraft’s left wingtip struck the horizontal stabilizer of the Air Canada plane, leaving a portion of the Delta winglet lodged in the Air Canada aircraft’s tail. No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew of either flight. Both aircraft have been removed from service for repairs, and investigations by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are underway.
