On October 16, Akita City hosted the 72nd Akita Prefecture Miso and Soy Sauce Evaluation awards ceremony. The Akita Governor’s Award, the highest honor of the event, was presented to six products divided between two categories.

In the miso category, winners included ‘Marujo Ha-go’ from Ando Brewing, ‘Yamakichi Handmade Miso I-go’ from Yamakichi Miso Shoyu Brewing, and ‘Fukuju Ro-go’ from Asari Sasuke Shoten. In the soy sauce category, recipients were ‘Marujo I-go’ from Ando Brewing, ‘Yamakichi I-go’ from Yamakichi Miso Shoyu Brewing, and ‘Maruichi Ha-go’ from Maruichi Shoyu Miso Brewing.
