Recent legal developments involving Albanian nationals include the arrest of Ornado Çeta in Tirana, Albania. Çeta, wanted by Italian authorities, faces extradition to Italy to serve over 20 years of a sentence for crimes including drug trafficking, fraud, and assault.

In a separate incident in Italy, a 29-year-old man confessed to the murder of Denaldo Maxhallak, a 31-year-old Albanian sanitation worker. Maxhallak’s body was discovered in a well in the Longiano area of Cesena after he had been missing since October 7. Investigators suggest the motive was a dispute over a 500-euro debt related to drug supplies. The suspect allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by setting fire to the victim’s vehicle.
