Voting for the 2026 Alberta referendum has concluded in several areas, though results in the West Yellowhead riding—encompassing Whitecourt, Edson, and Hinton—remain pending due to polling delays. To accommodate voters in this region, voting hours were extended at multiple sites, including the Whitecourt culture centre and various locations in Edson.

Once polls close, Elections Alberta will begin the ballot counting process. The referendum includes ten questions, with the tenth question receiving notable attention as it asks whether Alberta should remain in Canada or hold a second, binding independence referendum.
